The Israel Shipping Association (ISA) is seeking to persuade the Ashdod Port Management to operate the seaport on Shabbat (Sabbath) and holidays as it does the rest of the week. The ISA claims that such a change will improve the port's ability to compete and will contribute to the Israeli economy. According to the ISA, all other world ports, including those of our neighbor-states, operate seven days a week.
